Official Service
Individual Approval Under § 19.2 StVZO
If an add-on part has no General Type Approval (ABE), an individual approval under § 19 (2) StVZO is required. We assess road safety and document the change for the registration office.
What Does Individual Approval Mean?
Parts without a General Type Approval or EC approval — such as imported wheels, custom-made items or non-standard combinations — cause your vehicle's type approval to lapse as soon as they are fitted. Only after an individual approval may the vehicle be used on public roads again.
We assess the design, strength and effects on the vehicle, issue the modification approval, and support you through the subsequent registration process.
